New Homelab

New Homelab

Imagine the entire internet archived in your basement. Imagine not having to blame the ISPs when the internet goes down because you can't get things you need. They say, home is where the heart is. But we've got used to putting our most valuable information on someone else's homes (servers).

As a tech enthusiast myself, I've always wanted to build a lab running the services I control. And hosting data where it should be hosted. At my home. But it had always seemed like a far-cry since it takes a lot of maintenance overhead, internet speed issues and what not.

However, recently I've started working on building a home server from scratch and having it run services like Nextcloud, Immich, Keycloak and many more. Over a few weeks, I hope to write about them as I start working on them and make good headway into setting them up. It's still a work in progress and the progress is very slow. But hey, slow progress is still progress :)
